Medicinal Botanical Garden

The garden of medicinal plants is located at the foot of the hill, Hino, in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, which went down the Yamashina basin to south 7 kilometers from the main campus. Our garden is 13,016 square kilometers in area. There are exhibition garden, arboretum, a conservatory and an administration building with lecture room and herbarium. The garden has an essential collection of medicinal plants such as original plants source of crude drugs listed in the Japanese Pharmacopoeia. In addition other valuable plants like dye plant are cultivated and exhibited. This garden was specially prepared for research in medicinal plant science such as examination of the cultivation method, the collection of medicinal herbs, making specimen, the database creation of medicinal resources and so on. The garden is widely used in the scientific and educational fields.

Misasagi Medicinal Botanical Garden

Misasagi Learning Garden of Medicinal Plants was established near the campus in 2012.
The area of this garden is approximately 2, 700 square meters.
There are fields, a greenhouse and a small pond to cultivate medicinal plants in this garden.
At this garden, university students learn about morphology, growth process and usage of the medicinal plants.
Furthermore, we perform an instructional activity about medicinal plants for local people who are interested in medicinal plants once a year at this garden.

Center for Frontier Research in Medicinal Science

Center for Frontier Research in Medicinal Science was established in 1999 as an organization to support drug discovery programs (research and education) in Kyoto Pharmaceutical University.

The aim of the Centre for Society-Academia Collaborations is; developing academic research by collaborating with industry, entrepreneurs and government; creating intellectual property; promoting academic research in our community.

Center for Lifelong Learning

As medical care becomes increasingly sophisticated, pharmacists and other professionals in the field of health care are required to have even more advanced qualifications.

In response, Kyoto Pharmaceutical University opened the Center for Continuing Pharmaceutical Education on November 1, 2011. The Center aims to provide more opportunities to gain the academic expertise and skills related to pharmaceutical science offered by KPU and a chance for pharmacists and other professionals to receive further qualifications.

The Center welcomes pharmacists to increase their qualifications and participate in lifelong learning.

Center for International Exchange

The Center for International Exchange of Kyoto Pharmaceutical University is in charge of the internationalization of the university and students.

The main tasks of the Center are as follows:
(1) Promotion of faculty and student exchange with international institutions
(2) Supporting the life and study of international students
(3) Supporting Japanese students studying abroad
(4) Planning and executing other international affairs
