・The major object of our laboratory is design and evaluation of functional molecules those can interact with disease-related proteins. For this goal, medicinal chemistry based on synthetic organic chemistry and modern protein chemistry is fully utilized. The present target proteins include SARS and MERS 3CL protease relating with Sevier Acute Respiratory Syndrome and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, β-secretase of Alzheimer disease, and EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) and Wnt/β-catenin related proteins relating with several tumors. Stereo-selective syntheses of disease-related natural products are also conducted.
